DeGuardia's Star Boxing staged a card Friday night at the Paradise
Theater in New York City. In the main event, unbeaten heavyweight
Kevin Johnson (13-0-1, 5 KOs) took a ten round unanimous decision
over Charles Davis (17-11-1, 4 KOs) by scores of 98-90, 99-90,
98-91. In other action, the “Kosavo Kid” Elvir Muriqi (33-3, 20 KOs)
needed just 55 seconds to dispatch Derrick Reed (13-7, 11 KOs) in a
light heavyweight contest. A junior middleweight bout between former
world title challenger Raul Frank (27-5-2, 13 KOs) and spoiler
Thomas Davis (10-3-1, 6 KOs) ended in a no-contest. Jon "The
Fighting Marine" Schneider remained unbeaten, moving to 3-0 with 2
KOs after a unanimous decision (40-36, 40-35, 39-36) over Darryl
Holley (0-1). Also, junior middleweight veteran Pasqual Rouse shut
out Carlos Diaz 60-53, 60-54, 60-54, "atomweight" Suzannah Warner
topped Yvonne Caples over eight by scores of 78-74, 79-73, 78-74 to
clain the NABF 102lb title and junior welterweight "Sugar" Ray
Robinson defeated Nigel McKnight 40-36, 40-36, 40-36 in the pro
debut for both fighters. |
