STAR BOXING RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY ON EVE OF SUPERBOWL XLIV

On February 6th, on the eve of Super Bowl XLIV, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing returns to Atlantic City for the first time in the 2010, to present an exciting action packed card from the Tropicana Casino and Resort. Headlining the show will be Atlantic City's own welterweight contender, Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez (20-2, 11KO) taking on knockout artist Alexis Camacho (17-2, 16KO) in an exciting ten round welterweight showdown. In the co- feature bout of the evening, heavyweight fan favorite, Vinny Maddalone (32-6, 23KO), coming off a hard fought decision loss to former two-time cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck, returns to action to take on Dominique "Diamond" Alexander (19-7-1, 9KO). The bout is scheduled for eight rounds.

BOXING PROMOTERS ASSOCIATION MEETS IN LAS VEGAS MONDAY

On January 11th from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Boxing Promoters Association (BPA) will hold it's third meeting and first of the new year.
At the meeting the BPA expects to move forward with the continued development and betterment of the sport. President Joe DeGuardia released the agenda today.

Vinny Maddalone and Jean Marc Mormeck both weighed in today in anticipation of their upcoming bout tomorrow night at the Halle Carpentier in Paris France. Maddalone tipped the scales at 232 lbs. while Mormeck, fighting for the first time at heavyweight, weighed in at 216 lbs.
