YUNIESKY GONZALEZ BIO

Yuniesky Gonzalez was born on July 5, 1985, and raised in Pinar del rio Cuba. His Mother and Father divorced when he was child and he and his Sister were raised by their Mother. Like many other Cuban children Yuniesky had very little growing up but took a liking to Basketball which he played often.. A friend of Yuniesky brought him along to a local Boxing gym one day and from that day on Boxing took over Yuniesky’s life.

Yuniesky went on to a stellar amateur career amassing almost 400 amateur fights and was a member of the Cuban national team. Yuniesky competed in and won many international amateur fights.

Yuniesky decided to leave Cuba in 2009 and on a small boat with other Cuban refugees made his way to Mexico and then eventually landed in Miami, FL, where he met current manager Michael Luzbet. Yuniesky and Michael signed a management agreement and one year later Yuniesky turned pro on December 3, 2010, knocking out Ramon Adorno in 1 round. Yuniesky is trained by renowned Miami trainer Orlando Cuellar.

Michael and Orlando guided Yuniesky to a 15-0 record with 11 coming by knock out and started searching for a promoter. After fielding many offers Michael decided to sign Yuniesky with Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing based in the Bronx, NY, January of 2015.

With the guidance of Joe DeGuardia it is hopeful that Yuniesky will challenge for a world champions in the very near future.
